This is silly and probably a culmination of this week's excitement posting at nauseaum, but i made a TINY piece of cake out of strawberry flavored fortune cookies and cheesecake filling. The sauce on top is balsamic reduction. Does it look tasty? Does it make me think about the art and utility of food photography?
What does it look like?
1. Strawberry cake with cream cheese frosting?
2. Beet shortcake with fresh whipped cream?
3. Ham steaks mashed potatoes napolean with an au jus? Easter brunch?
It is the smallest culinary creation I have assembled. And sits on the tip of my finger.
My apologies for the ridiculousness.
This reminds me of the crazy confections my friends and I made out of marzipan and food coloring. When I was unemployed/jobless out of college, I took time to focus on the finer things in life: cupcakes and birthday cakes.
I must have done something right, because I have been asked to try my hand at a wedding cake.
